Thermography is a test method used to detect poor connections, unbalanced loads, deteriorated insulation, or other potential problems in energized electrical components.

These problems may lead to excess power use, increased maintenance costs, or catastrophic equipment failure resulting in unscheduled service interruptions, equipment damage, or other problems.

Also known as infrared inspection, thermography relies upon sensing of the heat emitted from the surface of an object in the form of infrared radiation. To detect and convert the infrared radiation into either a temperature value or a thermal image, test instruments are used. These instruments are also used to assess the thermal condition of the object at the time of measurement. One of the most common types of infrared thermal imaging device is an infrared camera.

These cameras are used for inspections of various electrical and mechanical systems, pipework faults, refractory and petrochemical installations and components in all sizes and shape.

Some of the failures that can be detected with these cameras are:

  •  Oxidation of high voltage switches
  • Overheated connections High resistance connections
  • Corroded connections
  • Internal fuse damage
  • Internal fuse faults
  • Poor connections and internal damage
  • Incorrectly secured connections
  • Insulator defects, poor connections in high voltage substations, switchgear, transformers, and outside circuit breakers
  • Lubrication problems
  • Misalignments
  • Overheated motors
  • Suspect rollers
  • Overloaded pumps
  • Overheated motor axles
  • Hot bearings
  • Leakage in pumps, pipes and valves
  • Insulation breakdowns
  • Pipe blockage. refractory linings for furnaces, boilers, kilns, incinerators, kooky and reactors area unit at risk of degeneration and loss of performance, Flare detection, Tank level detection,

We use these methods and pieces of equipment to properly identify defects in the existing systems. After the identification, we give recommendations to  fix the faults.

Energy Auditing is the process of monitoring and analyzing the consumption of energy involving the submission of a technical analysis containing recommendations for improving energy efficiency with cost-benefit analysis and an energy consumption reduction plan.

Implementation of recommended measures can help companies achieve a significant reduction in their energy consumption levels.

It consists of an organized study on energy-consuming sections and pieces of equipment including the construction of heat and mass balance with a view for identifying the flow of energy, the utilization efficiency of energy in each of the steps and pinpoint wasteful energy used.

Key Areas that are covered in Residential Energy Audit:

  1. Energy Bills Analysis
  2. Electrical Supply and Distribution
  3. Lighting
  4. Air Conditioning
  5. Water Heating

It consists of an organized study on energy-consuming sections and pieces of equipment including the construction of heat and mass balance with a view for identifying the flow of energy, the utilization efficiency of energy in each of the steps and pinpoint wasteful energy used.

A proper audit can reveal the areas of wastage of energy and where it would be possible to suggest saving of energy.

The energy audit report contains recommendations for improving energy efficiency with cost-benefit analysis and a plan to reduce energy consumption. The overarching benefit of the energy audit and its implementation is to help the designated energy consumers achieve a significant reduction in their energy consumption levels.

Types of energy audit:

  •  Complete analysis of the building, energy bills and utility data, including the installed equipment.
  • The survey of the real operating conditions.
  • The understanding of the building behaviour and the interactions with weather, occupancy and operating schedules

Power Quality Audit(PQA) is performed to check the reliability, efficiency and safety of an organisation’s electrical system.

Instruments designed to detect faults and deteriorations while recording parameters that may be used in locating the cause for electrical disturbance are used in PQA, these instruments are called network analysers.

The collected data is analysed by engineers, who can diagnose the problems and suggest the most appropriate solutions.

Anticipating power quality problems before they occur is the most pro-active approach to ensure that the facility is up and running around the clock. In today’s environment, around the clock operations equate to continuous uptime, therefore power interruptions occurring for even just a few seconds are unacceptable.

Power related infrastructure problems can be avoided with proper planning, our approach to performing Power Quality Audits include thoroughly checking the equipment's overall power safety from safety codes to safety common sense to prevent power interruptions.

One area that can be easy to overlook is the facility, our Power Quality Engineers perform a comprehensive site analysis of the electrical distribution in the facility to accurately identify the cause for system failures.

Once our Power Quality Audit is completed, we prepare a customized power quality report. This report contains reviews of the power system, pinpoints potential or current power problem areas, and provides an action plan detailing recommendations concerning your specific power system.
